HarshaSatsangh is dedicated to the joy of fellowship in Ahimsa as
exemplified in the purest Advaitic teachings of the Jnani Sage of
Arunachala, Sri Ramana Maharshi. We emphasize the universality of the
doctrine of nonviolence and the teachings of compassion as these themes are
found in all major spiritual traditions and religions of both the East and
the West. Ramana Maharshi taught that if one realizes that the same Self
(consciousness) is in all and all are in the same Self (consciousness) only,
one will not want to harm another! It would be like harming oneself. In
Jainism, the religion of my teacher Chitrabhanuji, nonviolence is considered
the cardinal principle. Chitrabhanuji taught me that a feeling of amity and
nonviolence towards all living beings, when it is carried to an extreme is
as powerful as any technique or method of Yoga and naturally leads to
Self-Realization.
We welcome everyone who is interested in understanding the path of Ahimsa
Shakti (the power of awareness and nonviolence in meditative and yogic
techniques), regardless of religion, spiritual tradition, or background.
This is an international gathering and fellowship of teachers and students
of Advaita Vedanta, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Jainism, Sufism, Sikhism, Taoism, Yoga, Tantra, Meditation, Pranayama, and the practitioners of all spiritual practices which are conducted in the context of Ahimsa, the philosophy of nonviolence. We believe in the power of Ahimsa and Satsang or spiritual
fellowship. The gentle Sage of Arunachala, Sri Ramana Maharshi who has
blessed us with his life and was an embodiment of kindness and compassion
said many times that Satsang, company of sages, and spiritual fellowship
leads to Self-Realization. In the company of sages, the veil that keeps us
from recognizing our Self becomes thinner and finally drops.
The purpose of this website is to support HarshaSatsangh (Joyous Fellowship) and promote activities and sadhana that lead us towards mutual friendship and to realize Ahimsa at every level of our existence.
We bow to the great sages and saints in every tradition who have taught
that the same One God of all religions, the ultimate Truth or Reality, in which the whole of Cosmos arises and subsides, can be found by looking directly in to our own Heart.
